Orhan Pamuk is a famous Turkish writer, winner of numerous national and international awards, including the Nobel Prize in Literature for “searching for the soul of his melancholic city.” In fact, the action of almost all of the writer’s novels... takes place in Istanbul, a mysterious and beautiful city that has experienced the highest prosperity and the sad twilight of decline.
The action of the novel "Snow", however, develops in a small provincial town, where a young poet arrives in search of clues to the reasons for the death of several young girls who committed suicide. Here, as if on the edge of the earth, a completely different people live, professing strict religious rules. Cut off from the rest of the world by vast white spaces, covered with snow on the roofs, the town does not even think of dozing, but on the contrary, it closely monitors every step of the uninvited guest...
