Who needs texts with gaps? Why should you read "inside out"? And what are these texts "with tails"?
Let's let you in on a secret: this is a "trick" invented by adults for those children who are just starting to read,...
and for those who already can, but do not really like to do it. "Gaps" are missing words, and "tails" are unfinished sentences that the child must complete meaningfully. In "inside out" texts, individual words are mixed up, and in texts with "hiding places" - entire sentences. Now the children have to unravel everything and put it in order. Reading becomes much more engaging.
But that's not all. Remember how it used to be: "MA-MA WE-RE PE-RAM"? Traditionally, for the first reading, words were divided into syllables with dashes. This makes it easier for a little one to read. But time goes on, technologies change. An experienced educator, the author of this book, noticed that with such training, some children linger on the syllabic reading stage for a long time, and improved the process. In our book, syllables in words are highlighted in color. This way, each of them is clearly visible, and the word maintains its integrity. Reading immediately becomes a cohesive process.
But that's still not all. Learning to "build" words from letters is only half the battle. It is much more important to turn a child's mechanical reading into meaningful reading. And here, additional tasks and questions for discussion after reading will come to the rescue.
