Two Trams

The publishing house “Samokat” presents the book by artist Anna Desnitskaya — the poem by Osip Emilyevich Mandelstam “Two Trams”.The illustrations for the book were created not only from paper and paints, but also from cardboard, glue, straws, old buttons,... copper wire, and plastic bottle caps. With their help, the “heroes” of the poem — the trams — appeared first, and then a whole city grew — with streets, houses, rails, and residents.Thanks to the design, reminiscent of theatrical scenery, the action of “Two Trams” unfolds before you as if on stage, so three-dimensional and lively the illustrations look on paper. Thanks to them, children can not only read poems but also closely examine the pictures, trying to guess what everything is made of.
