Educational game Geokont Voskobovich is a unique “rubber” construction set for children 3 years and older.It is clear from the name itself that it was invented by the famous teacher-inventor Vyacheslav Voskobovich. His play aids, framed by fairy-tale plots, are...
always very interesting for children.“There is no royal path to geometry,” but there is a fabulous path into it that leads to the Violet Forest to a clearing of golden fruits. Together with Baby Geo, your child goes on this exciting journey. From the wise Raven Mater and the fabulous spider Yuk, he learns the secrets of straight lines, rays, segments, angles and geometric figures, and also becomes acquainted with the coordinate system. “Giant” is an enlarged version of the Geokont “Baby” game. The plot of the game is the same, but the design is slightly different. There are 8 rays on the plywood playing board that emanate from the center of the field. It also features three abstract geometric shapes in red, blue and green. The intersection points of these figures with the rays are the coordinates along which the child will create various silhouette images on the playing field. At these points there are 33 “silver” carnations, which, according to the plot of the game, were planted in a clearing of golden fruits by Baby Geo. The multi-colored rubber bands included in the set are pulled onto the nails - and all sorts of colorful pictures appear on Geokont Voskobovich’s field. The game introduces the coordinate systemThe rays are designated by letters from A to Z, and the studs in the ray are numbered 1, 2, 3 or 4. This means that each stud can be given a name, for example, “A3” or “D2”. With the help of multi-colored rubber bands (magic webs donated by the spider Yuk), the child gets acquainted with geometric concepts as the plot of the fairy tale progresses. He learns what a point, a segment, a straight line, a closed and open curve, a geometric figure, angles (straight, acute, obtuse, unfolded) are. You can play various games with rubber bands:transform geometric shapes into each other by moving rubber bands over studs;
- complete the construction of a symmetrical half of some figure;
- flip a mirror image of the figure depicted in the book.There are such tasks in the fairy tale; baby Geo and the little spiderlings perform them together with the spider Yuk. You can use rubber bands to create the most intricate patterns on the playing field - based on samples from the album or your own, unique ones. If the rubber bands included in the set are not enough, you can purchase an additional set in our online store. And if the child wants to draw the patterns he has come up with, this can be done using the Geovisor game. You can also create patterns using a given algorithm. You tell your child the names of the nails to put rubber bands on, and he creates a drawing and shows you the result. For example: “F4, B4, Z4, G4.” The result is a rectangle. Or let the child think of a figure and give you an algorithm, and you must guess and collect this picture on Geocont. If your child liked the fairy tale about Baby Geo, then you can safely make him happy: this is only one chapter from “Tales of the Violet Forest”. Continuations can be found in other educational games by Voskobovich, for example, “Transparent Square with a Fairy Tale” and “Miracle Flowers”. In them, the child will meet baby Geo again, learn the story of the Raven Mater and learn many interesting and useful things. If you purchase this manual for a kindergarten, then we recommend that you take individual small boards for it for each child - Geokont “Baby” (without a fairy tale).By the way, it’s more convenient to play Geokont Voskobovich if you hang it on the wall.
